The Center for Emerging Visual Artists (CFEVA), in partnership with NewCourtland is pleased to offer Philadelphia area artists the opportunity to participate in a senior-focused fellowship. Through the NewCourtland Artist Fellowship, visual artists will be selected to bring innovative and engaging art-making to seniors in sites throughout Philadelphia. NEWCOURTLAND ARTIST FELLOWSHIP- 

CFEVA and NewCourtland are seeking the region’s visual artists to propose innovative, interactive art projects created for seniors affiliated with the NewCourtland Network. All projects will occur Summer 2024, Fall 2024 and Spring 2025. To apply for this fellowship, artists must submit a proposal that demonstrates the following: 

--Participating seniors will be engaged in the artistic process in a meaningful and significant way, the artwork created during this residency will be thoughtful, well executed, and professionally presented.

--The final artwork created in the program will be presented in a professional manner and is exhibition ready.

-- The artist will provide a working climate that will empower all participants.

-- All projects should include a take home portion for the participants. The proposed budget should reflect that cost.

Accepted artists will receive a fellowship award of $2,500 (to be paid in two $1,250 installments). Selected artists will be responsible for conducting eight 1.5 hour intergenerational workshops for NewCourtland residents (up to 10). Artists will also be required to attend several meetings and participate in the exhibition in Summer 2025. 

Artists will be separately compensated for purchasing all necessary art supplies and professionally presenting the artwork created in their program for the final exhibition.
