Laura Turner Igoe PhD, is Gerry and Marguerite Lenfest Chief Curator at the James A. Michener Art Museum, in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. She previously held curatorial and research positions at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Princeton University Art Museum, the Harvard Art Museums, and the Barnes Foundation. A co-editor of A Greene Country Towne: Philadelphia’s Ecology in the Cultural Imagination (Penn State University Press, 2016), she has contributed essays to the journals American Art, Panorama, and Commonplace and the exhibition catalogue Nature’s Nation: American Art and Environment (Princeton University Press, 2018). At the Michener, she curated Rising Tides: Contemporary Art and the Ecology of Water (2020) and co-curated Daring Design: The Impact of Three Women on Wharton Esherick’s Craft (2021–22) and Never Broken: Visualizing Lenape Histories (2023–24).
