Maria Maneos, 2020 Fellow

Maria Maneos earned her BFA from Arcadia Univ. and accomplished her MFA from the PAFA.In 2013 she started an art program inside of the Montgomery County Correctional Facility, which has sinceextended out into the larger community. Maneos, now leads college students from various local colleges andindividuals with assigned community service hours to create together along with socially marginalized peoplesuch as parolees/probation, those afflicted with drug addiction, behavioral/mental health, at-risk youth, doing citybeautification projects like murals and site-specific art installations throughout the Philadelphia metropolitan area.This work is meant to inspire meaningful changes and lasting improvements in the critical social issues affectingthese populations and to inspire positive change in thought from society as a whole in their views andinterpretations of them.She is a painter by heart and has shown her work in many Philadelphia and New York galleries.
