Maria Dumlao, 2019 Fellow

Born in the Philippines, I work in combined media, including prints, video, sound, animation and installation. My work has been shown at Art in General, Momenta Art Gallery and Schroeder Romero Gallery in NYC, Hyde Park Art Center in Chicago, The Contemporary Museum in Hawaii, and internationally. 2018 projects include a solo exhibition at Vox Populi Gallery, a commissioned work for the Asian Arts Initiative’s 25th Anniversary exhibition, participation in The Mosaic Project at Pennsylvania College of Art & Design, and inclusion in Making Space at Moore College of Art and Design. I’ve been in residence at Atlantic Center for the Arts, Vermont Studio Center, and Wassaic Artist Residency, and was awarded a Leeway Foundation Art & Change grant. I am curating the exhibition,"And this is how you are a citizen…" opening January 2019 at Hicks Arts Center in Bucks County Community College. I have a BA in Studio Art/Art History from Rutgers College & an MFA in Studio Art at Hunter College-CUNY.
