Lily Gilston is the Community Program Manager for CFEVA. She coordinates all efforts around Philadelphia Open Studio Tours, curates custom exhibitions, and assists our Artist Members and Fellowship Alumni throughout the year.
In addition to her community programming at CFEVA, Lily Gilston is a visual artist from Monmouth County, New Jersey, working in multimedia fiber and sculpture. Her hands-on approach combines fiber techniques, including weaving, felting, and papermaking, with extended media to create tension between psychological spaces and physical reality. Lily’s interdisciplinary practice confronts human duality and how people interact with and imbue meaning in their environment. Her solo exhibition, emerge, embrace, was on view in the TCNJ Art Gallery in November 2020. Lily was selected to participate as a Student Collaborator in the Mentored Summer Undergraduate Experience (MUSE) Program 2020. She has worked as an Assistant at the TCNJ Art Gallery and was awarded the Art & Art History Department Service Award for her contributions as Student Ambassador. Lily won the 2021 President's Office Award and has work in the College of New Jersey Art Gallery's Permanent Collection. She received her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from the College of New Jersey in May 2021.
