Visual Artist Fellowship

Griska Portlock - CFEVA fellow

A two-year hatchery of innovation, the Visual Artist Fellowship underscores CFEVA's commitment to fostering artistic excellence and furthers its mission to help visual artists build sustainable careers.

Artists are selected by an independent Board of Artistic Advisors based on the merit of their artwork, demonstrated ability to reach stated goals, and a clear vision for the next level in their professional practice. Fellows receive a full range of career support over a two-year period to ensure the successful realization of professional goals, artistic outcome, or related project as defined in the application. Selected artists will receive a $1,000 stipend and up to $3,000 to cover expenses related to the proposed activity. CFEVA invites all artists within a 150-mile radius of Philadelphia to apply, regardless of their current status of emerging, mid career or established.

The Visual Artist Fellowship is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts. To find out more about how National Endowment for the Arts grants impact individuals and communities, visit
